In Matthew 26, Jesus predicts that Judas will betray him and that Peter would deny him. Before Judas and Peter carried out their acts, Jesus knew. God always knows what we are going to do before we do it. Jesus knew the kind of people that he was dying for. The bible tells us to love our neighbor, yet we continue to do things to hurt them. The bible tells us to give thanks in all things, yet we complain about things when they go wrong. The bible tells us to have the faith the size of a mustard seed, yet we go on worrying. Jesus knew that we would not be able to carry our sins ourself. In our own power we are complainers and worriers, but thank God for his grace and the Holy Spirit. Jesus suffered to bring us home back to the Father. What a beautiful love story.
